At Graphic Mint we love getting our hands on a great Podcast that is both interesting and offbeat. We went around the office, asking everyone about their favourite UX Podcasts to help you choose your next show to listen to.
1. UX Podcast
UX Podcast is perfect for those listeners who are passionate about business, technology and people, and learning how to balance them within the realm of digital media. Hosted by Per Axbom & James Royal-Lawson, they explore topics with UX Thought Leaders, like Cooper co-founder Alan Cooper.
2. The UX Intern
Great for UX students, interns and anyone who’s a newcomer, looking to get started in the field, The UX Intern is full of stories and tips. The series involves interviews with seasoned UX designers that share their wisdom and experience with host Wesley Noble.
3. What Is Wrong with UX – Users Know
What Is Wrong with UX features some strong language and a more informal approach to things, however this make the podcast more entertaining to listen to. Hosted by Laura Klein & Kate Rutter, it involves the pair drinking wine and sharing humorous stories and insights from their careers.
4. UXpod
This podcast is a great starting point for those wanting to learn about UX, with shorter episodes which follow a more serious tone. Gerry Gaffney has been hosting UXpod since 2006, which follows an interesting history of UX over its series.
5. 99% Invisible
99% Invisible explores the extraordinary design stories about everyday objects which we overlook. Roman Mars started this programme in his bedroom before moving to public radio and then eventually online. It is one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes with over 150 million downloads.
6.The Dirt
This podcast follows a mini-series format with multiple episodes on similar topics. Hosted by Fresh Tilled Soil, a Boston-based digital agency, they mainly cover digital product strategy and design in their podcast.
7. Dollars To Donuts
Dollars to Donuts invites User Research professional, from companies such as Airbnb, Lyft, Etsy and Citrix to share their insights. Steve Portigal interviews people to uncover the underlying issues they face in their work process.
8. The UX Blog Podcast
The UX Blog podcast invites User Experience professionals to talk about their careers, whilst also discussing current trends and hot topics. Hosted by Nicholas Tenhue, it was set up to share knowledge and ideas about UX with the aim of becoming a useful resource for the listenership.
9. UX and Growth
UX and Growth involves discussions with design experts from around the world, focusing on User Experience and growth tactics. Austin Knight uses this programme to discuss interesting UX topics over some cool beers with colleagues and friends.
10. UI Breakfast
UI Breakfast involves conversations with industry experts on a range of UX/UI design topics involving products and marketing. Jane Portman is a UX/UI consultant who hosts this resource to share actionable insight with the UX community worldwide.
